Beauty in a Fall
In her toughest adventure yet, Revelstoke mountain guide seeks to embrace her true identity as a trans woman following a fierce struggle with PTSD.
From a young age Julianna didn’t feel like she belonged. However, upon finding the weird and wonderful world of rock climbing, she dedicated her life to mountain sports and becoming a mountain guide. While this brought her immense joy, living and working in the mountain guiding industry led her to feel unsafe publicly expressing her true gender identity. It was only after a life changing accident and a series of serious wake up calls that she took time off guiding and started to seek support and therapy for PTSD.
After having taken a step back from her role in the mountain community, Julianna Howatt is now ready to share her story and use her experience to advocate for an inclusive future for the guiding community. Visiting the mountain-scapes that were her livelihood, she will confront her past experiences and her journey's cost.
It’s all downhill from here
WEAK LAYERS is a progressive throwback to the cult classics that we, as skiers and snowboarders, all love. Set in Lake Tahoe, the film follows three passionate and lovably rowdy local women on a quest to win a world famous 72-hour short ski film competition. It dissects modern ski culture while championing the tight-knit local communities found in ski towns the world throughout. If ever there was an ode to mountain town life, this is it.
The movie was released theatrically by Greenwich Entertainment on January 5, 2024 and sold out theaters across the United States and Canada. It features cameos from all-time greats: Scott Gaffney, Michelle Parker, Cody Townsend, Elyse Saugstad, JT Holmes, Amie Engerbretson, Todd Ligare, Daron Rahlves, Connery Lundin, Jonny Moseley, Sherry McConkey, Drew Peterson, Debbie Dutton, Jim Ryan, Madison Rose Ostergren, and more.
Whose fault is it anyway?
When celebrated professional skiers Lorraine Huber and Hedvig Wessel join forces to take on the Freeride World Tour, director Katie Burrell thinks this just might be a premise dreamt up in Girl-Boss heaven.
The “Plan,” as it were, was to film Norway and Hoobs supporting each other through their complementary transitions – one from athlete to coach, and the other from mogul skier to big mountain freerider.
At the centre of this disaster, “COACH” asks the questions – why are women hiding behind contrived narratives in action sports media? Can’t female athletes show up honestly and still be adored by fans? Is there space for flaws in the gilded world of professional skiing?

How hard can it be?
A comedy documentary about a girl working in the ski industry who decides to become one of the stars, DREAM JOB begs the question - they go up, they go down, how hard can it be? The film follows comedian Katie Burrell through "days in the life" with three of the industry's biggest names: Leah Evans, founder of Girls Do Ski, Christina Lustenberger, ex-Olympian and big mountain skier, and Diny Harrison, the first certified female mountain guide in North America. Needless to say, she finds out how hard it really can be.
